EDINDOCS is a brand new Documentary Film Festival which aims to bring quality, independent documentary film to Scotland’s capital.
Films include I Won’t Go by Georgina Hurcome, the moving tale of a 99-year-old ex-millionaire; and To Save the Whale, an outstanding piece of film-making following Greenpeace in the Arctic which is an eye-opener whether or not you support the cause. Given the involvement of Edinburgh company Cairn Energy in oil drilling in Greenland we probably should be interested one way or the other.
Sponsored by the National Library of Scotland, winners of the ‘Best Documentary’ category will be screened at NLS in the week following the festival and preserved at the Library’s Scottish Screen Archive for generations to come. Further details of the competition in our article here.
EDINDOCS features 25 documentaries and takes place between September 16th-18 at The Church Hill Theatre, Morningside, Edinburgh.
