Hibs interim head coach John Potter believes the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen on Saturday was a fair result.
Potter, who stepped up to take the team this week following the departure of David Gray on Wednesday, was happy with the fight and character of his players after a difficult week and overall, a draw was about right at Easter Road.
The Dons went ahead in the 17th minute after a finish from Kevin Nisbet, but Hibs levelled through Martin Boyle’s penalty, after defender Jack Milne fouled Jason Kerr.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the final whistle, Potter said: “It was obviously a difficult game, and we probably made a little bit of a slow start.
“I actually didn’t think there was that much in the first-half on both sides.
“We got into really good areas, I felt, but didn’t really cause that threat round about the goal.
“I probably actually thought we got in better areas than them in the first-half, but they made their chance count and probably had better efforts on goal because of it.
“At half-time, I spoke about still trying to get in those areas and changed a couple of things.
“It was about being a bit more positive when we were in there and committing more bodies forward and trying to get more efforts on goal, and I thought we did that in the second.
“I thought we were definitely worthy of a point, and they said they were probably a little bit disappointed with the way the game was going that we couldn’t get all three points.
“They had a threat going the other way, and we could see that when we were trying to commit bodies forward, so I was always looking at the other side, just making sure we don’t over-commit because they’re a big threat on the counter-attack.
“Overall, it was probably a fair result, but if anyone was pushing for the winner, I do think it was us.
“I thanked the players because it’s been a really difficult couple of days.
“You would never, ever question anything that they do on a pitch, and they always give it 100 per cent every single day and every single game.
“It doesn’t always go for you, and little things can go either way, but in terms of the group and their effort, they’re first class, and they’ll always do that.
“We’ve got a few away on international duty, and some have got a little break, and then just to get hopefully prepared to go again.”
