Martin Boyle admits the Hibs players have been too inconsistent in the league and they need to get back to winning ways.

It was a frustrating night at Easter Road, where George Stanger’s effort from close-range just before the half-time whistle was the difference between the sides.
From there we were left to try and force our way through a dogged Kilmarnock defence, which saw them throw every player back into the box and eventually hold onto the three points.
Now Boyle said everyone must step up and rediscover their consistency ahead of Saturday’s match with Aberdeen.
“It’s not good enough, and obviously we are standing in this position again,” he said to Hibs TV.
“We’re not the team that can afford to dip in and out of games.
“We’re too inconsistent in the league, and we need to get back to winning games on a consistent basis to be up there challenging.
“Tonight was certainly not good enough, and we are miles off where we want to be.
“We can’t start games like that, and maybe their disallowed goal gave us a little bit of a boost, but all the touches in the box, all that delivery, and nothing at the end of it, it’s not good enough.
“Defensively, we need to tighten up, as we’ve conceded a lot of goals.
“It’s obviously not where we want to be at the position at the moment. We can turn that around on Saturday, but we need a big performance from the lads.
“We need to stick together, as always, and hopefully we can do that.
“We didn’t do enough in the game.
“We had spells, and we had good possession, but at the end of the day, we weren’t going anywhere in a hurry.
“We weren’t as demanding as we should have been, and we didn’t have that clinical edge, and we could have lost by more at the end of the day.
“We threw everything at it, but I don’t think we were moving the ball as quickly as we could and getting into positions to attack them at pace.
“We didn’t work the goalie enough, and being at home, with the demands of this Football Club, and the fans, and the expectations that come on you, we as players, we have to take that in the chin.
“We fully accept that, but like you say, we have to bounce back, and there’s no other way.
“The position that we’re in, we’ve lost too many games this season, and we’ve been inconsistent.
“We play well in spells, and we dominate at Dundee away, and we’ve won convincingly at the weekend, and then we perform like that.
“The fans will probably be sick of hearing that as well, but we need to get back to being consistently winning games and reaching the expectations of this Football Club, the expectations.
“We all have to rally up to it, and that’s what we aim to do.
“We need to dust ourselves down as the games are coming thick and fast.
“Hopefully, we can get a positive result before the international break and then get our heads really down and kick on.”
