Ante Šuto is waiting to see who Hibs will face in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

And he is confident that the team are ready for the task ahead.

The striker made a significant contribution to Hibs 3-0 Premier Sports Cup quarter-final victory over Ross County on Saturday.

The forward caused problems for the William Hill League One side all afternoon at the Global Energy Stadium, and after Thibault Klidjé’s header and Adam Mayor’s penalty had Hibs two goals in front, he got Hibs third goal six minutes before the break.

His goal marked his first of the season and first since April against Kilmarnock, and while he was pleased to get back on the scoresheet, he stressed the importance of the victory, which booked Hibs spot in the semi-finals and a return to Hampden for the first time since November 2023.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Šuto said: “We are very happy, and it’s job done. We are off to the semi-finals and to Hampden.

“I always enjoy when I play, and I think we set the tempo from the start.

“We showed why we are favourites, why we are a better team.

“We scored three goals in the first half but could have been more in the second half. It was a tough match, but we are happy to go through.

“It’s the best feeling in the world as an attacker when you score a goal.

“I could have scored before my goal, and I’m angry at myself, but I’m really happy, and I hope to continue scoring goals.

“When you have the opportunity, you have to take it.

“I’m always [giving] 100% when I’m playing, and when you do all the hard work behind the scenes and it goes back on the pitch, it makes you really happy.

“We’re waiting for who we’re going to play against, but whoever we’re going to play, I think we’re ready.

“We have confidence, and I think this team can go really, really far.”

Suto also reserved praise for the Hibs fans – all 1,500 of them – who made the journey up to Dingwall, and said they helped push the team to a crucial victory.

He added: “I couldn’t believe when I saw how many of them were here, because it’s a long trip.

“A big thanks to them for their support throughout the whole game as they pushed us throughout the whole game, so thank you to them.”
