New Hibs on-loan signing Jacob Devaney put in an assured display as the team secured a thoroughly deserved 2-1 against Dundee yesterday.
After completing his season-long loan from Manchester United last Sunday the youngster was ineligible for the game against KAA Gent in midweek.
So he was more than ready to make his debut yesterday.
“I really enjoyed it,” Devaney told Hibs TV after the final whistle.
“Obviously, it’s my first time playing in front of the Hibs fans, and I thought they were brilliant as well today.
“They really helped us, but I thought it was a great team performance.
“It’s been a long week for me, as I wasn’t able to play the game on Thursday, but I really enjoyed the lead-up to it, and I’m glad with the way it went.
“We played really well, and hopefully we can take that into moving forward.
“We’re probably gutted that we didn’t make the game a little bit easier for ourselves.
“I think we had a good amount of chances to finish the game off, and obviously it was a bit of a disappointment to concede the goal at the end, but I thought we saw out the game really well, and that’s the main thing.
“It was nice to play in a game with that expectation of winning behind it, going out and trying to get three points.
“I’m a winner, and that’s what I want to do every week.”
“[I’ve settled in] really well. The lads have been really good with me, and I’ve been really welcomed by the staff and from the players.
“I’ve really enjoyed moving to Edinburgh and to Hibs, so hopefully it’ll stay the same.
“I’m really looking forward to it and playing in front of the fans at Easter Road.
“I’m sure it’ll be a good atmosphere, and I’m sure we can put on a good performance and get the win.”
