Rabbi Matondo says he is ready to make his Hibs debut in tomorrow’s game against Dundee United.
Hibs return to William Hill Premiership action at Tannadice Park after an extended international break.
Matondo was part of the club’s warm-weather training camp in La Manga and played in two behind-closed-doors games last week.
After a successful trial period, the new No39 was handed a deal until the end of the 2026/27 season after impressing new manager Marink Reedijk.
Now Matondo is eager to make his mark and play for the Hibs as soon as possible.
Matondo in his pre-match press conference on Friday: “I’m ready to start if needed, but it’s been a long time since I’ve started a game and been in a Club environment on a day-to-day basis.
“So, we’ll see what the manager wants and decides, but I’m ready for whatever the manager wants.
“I said earlier this week I have unfinished business in Scotland, and that’s for me in terms of myself trying to be as fit as I can, stay injury-free and play football and show that I have what it takes to succeed in Scotland.
“That’s my aim this season, and I’m grateful I’ve got the opportunity to do it at a Club like Hibs.
“I’m raring and ready to go and show that I can show my qualities on a regular basis here in Scotland.
“I’ve enjoyed it (working under the new Manager).
“There’s been real intensity in his work from the first day in Spain, and even coming back here.
“That’s the style of play he wants from us, and I think it suits the players we have at this moment in time.
“I’m excited to see how it goes. I’m looking forward to having a contribution in how he wants to play, and hopefully I can be a big part of it.”
