Hibernian FC Women has announced the signing of English forward Libby Smith.
After coming through the Chelsea youth academy, Smith started her senior career with Leicester City – where she signed her first professional contract in 2020 before winning the 2020/21 FA Women’s Championship, earning the Foxes promotion to the top-flight for the first time in their history.
A move to Birmingham City followed, where the versatile forward gained Women’s Super League experience during her four-year stay with the Blues. Since her time in the West Midlands came to an end in 2025, Smith has played for both USL Super League side Sporting JAX and WSL2 club Nottingham Forest.
The 25-year-old forward will wear the number 9 for Hibs Women.
On the move, Women’s Head Coach Joelle Murray said: “Libby is a really exciting addition to our squad. She’s a natural number nine with experience in the WSL, and we know the quality she can bring in the final third.
“She has a real eye for goal and a strong understanding of what it takes to be effective in and around the box. We’re looking forward to seeing her bring that experience to Hibs.
“We’re delighted to have her on board and can’t wait to see her in green and white.”
After signing Smith said: “I’m really excited to be joining Hibernian. It’s a Club with a great history and ambition, and I’m looking forward to getting started, meeting everyone and helping the team achieve our goals this season.
“I can’t wait to get out on the pitch and give everything for the badge.”
