Saturday’s choices include the debut hour from a major new comedy name, a one-woman operatic comedy and a dark magic show set in a north-east village.
Madeleine Brettingham: Legend
Madeleine Brettingham, winner of 2025’s So You Think You’re Funny? competition, brings her debut stand-up hour to the Fringe.
Legend explores growing up amid booze-soaked bad behaviour and the strange process of becoming the person you thought you might be. Brettingham’s show mixes storytelling and stand-up, with the comedian promising an hour fuelled by pork scratchings and a lust for glory.

Georgina Thomas: Hysterical Soprano
For something less conventional, comedian Georgina Thomas makes her solo Fringe debut with an operatic comedy about a performer facing her biggest rival: herself.
Thomas, one half of sketch duo Thick ’n’ Fast, plays an unabashedly self-obsessed soprano trapped in the echo chamber of her own vibrato. It is a good lunchtime choice for anyone after comedy with a bit more theatricality than a standard stand-up set.

Forget About Me
There is a darker turn at the Pleasance Courtyard, where Forget About Me blends psychological illusions with a ghost story.
Designer-performer Dylan Howells plays a character returning to a remote north-east village, where something in the bathroom refuses to be remembered – or fixed.
The production uses mentalism and theatrical effects to blur memory and reality. It contains scenes of violence and realistic gore, as well as themes of domestic abuse, bullying, death and grief.
