Edinburgh resident Kevin McPadden has left his corporate career to run his Latin American dining experience, Gringo Supperclub, full-time.
Located in the West End, the venue began as a side project launched by Kevin and his wife, Paulina, to cook for strangers in their home.
To prepare for the transition, Kevin completed a two-month trip across Mexico and Peru, working at restaurants including Oryx in Tijuana and Piedra in Lima.
The supperclub brings guests together for an eight-course tasting menu, which changes every two months to feature seasonal ingredients and new recipes.
The current menu focuses on Scottish seafood prepared in Mexican and Peruvian styles.
Owner Kevin McPadden said: “There is something really magical about opening your front door to complete strangers and watching them bond over an eight-course tasting menu.
“We’ve seen guests swapping numbers and making future plans by the end of the night. The success so far has given me the confidence and chance to follow my dream, travel to perfect my skills, and make bringing people together my full-time job.”
In addition to the dinners, Gringo Supperclub has introduced cooking classes to teach guests techniques learned during Kevin’s travels.
