Balerno B have secured the George Aitken Construction Premiership title in their debut season, and, at the same time, claimed back-to-back titles having triumphed in the Championship the previous season.
The two rinks, one skipped by Phil Marshall and the other by Ferguson McBeath, showed consistency in winning 14 of their 18 matches, finishing with 60.5 points, well clear of runners-up, Bainfied A who were on 53 points having won 11 and lost seven of their games.
A close third were Currie who finished with 52 points having won 12 and lost six of their matches in the keenly contested division.
Balerno A were fourth with 50 points having won eight, drawing two and losing eight of their matches in the league organised by the West Edinburgh Seniors Bowling Association (WESBA).
The winners drew against Bainfield B, who finished second-bottom of the league, and they lost to Coltbridge, Bainfield A, and Balerno A in a local derby, their final match of the league season. By that time Balerno B had already claimed the title.
Other placings: 5, Coltbridge 45.5 points; 6, Carick Knowe B 44.5; 7, Slateford B 40.5; 8, Ardmillan 38.0; 9, Bainfield B 35.0; 10, Carrick Knowe A 31.0.
