As part of Police Scotland’s efforts to tackle shoplifting, the Retail Crime Task Force, and local officers carried out an operation in the Gorgie area of Edinburgh.
During June, seven people were arrested and charged in connection with 50 offences including shoplifting and outstanding warrants.
Stock worth over £2,800 was also recovered, with a further 24 people charged in connection with theft and issued with banning notices from shops and stores.
Local Community Inspector Paul Begley said: “The Retail Crime Task Force and local officers are committed to working with retailers, partners and the public to tackle shoplifting and theft.”
