Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed a crash on the A70 near Harperrig Reservoir, West Lothian, on Friday, 12 June 2026, to contact them.
Around 5.50pm a white Seat Leon Cupra car left the road and came to a stop in an adjacent field.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
His condition is described by hospital staff as serious.
The 16-year-old male passenger was taken to the hospital and released after treatment. There was no-one else injured and no other vehicle involved.
Constable Andrew Gillies said:”Anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw what happened is urged to get in touch. I would also ask anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident or of the vehicle prior to the crash to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2651 of 12 June 2026.”
