Hibs midfielder Ciara Grant will retire at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Since joining Hibs Women in June 2024, Grant has been an influential player within the squad; consistently performing at a high level in midfield, bringing great experience to the First Team squad and leading by example throughout her two seasons in Leith.
She was instrumental in Hibernian Women’s first Scottish Women’s Premier League title success in 18 years and the Club’s return to the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The 32-year-old has played 67 times for Hibs Women across all competitions to date, scoring five goals and providing 15 assists from midfield.
Grant had also enjoyed success prior to her time at Hibernian, winning her first of two SWPL titles with Rangers in 2022.
The experienced midfielder also won back-to-back League of Ireland Premier Division titles in 2013 and 2014 with Raheny United, where she also lifted the FAI Women’s Cup twice in both 2012 and 2013, as well as a third topflight title with Shelbourne in 2021.
On the international stage, Grant has earned 18 caps for the Republic of Ireland and was part of the nation’s first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, travelling to Australia for the 2023 competition.
On announcing her retirement, she said: “I can’t thank all my teammates and the staff here at Hibs enough for the past two years.
“From the moment I arrived I realised what a special club it is. To win the title last year and get back to playing Champions League football with this group has been so special.
“My time has come to hang up my boots, but I will forever be a fan of this Club.”
