Hibernian Women took all three points after securing a memorable 3-2 victory over Glasgow City at Meadowbank.
Two first-half goals from Eilidh Adams and Kathleen McGovern put Hibs ahead going into the interval, but Glasgow City restored parity with goals from Abi Harrison and Codie Thomas.
Just as time looked to be running out, the stadium erupted as a late goal in stoppage time from Tegan Bowie sealed a memorable win.
“It’s a big win,” Head Coach Joelle Murray told Hibs TV after the match. “Games against ourselves and Glasgow City are always difficult ones, they’re always competitive and it’s a massive win for us.
“We spoke about between now and the end of the season, what our aims are. We obviously want to take nine points in the last three games and today puts us on the right step towards that.
“I think obviously going in 2-0 at half-time was good. I think we played well but we spoke about the girls having more levels to achieve and grow to. I think when you think about that, it just speaks volumes about the standards that we hold as a group, as individuals.
“It was a good first half, great to go in at 2-0 up but we knew that we needed to be better in the second half, knowing that Glasgow City were going to come out as they did and be better.
“I think it shows the character and the resilience within the group to steady the ship at that point, regain momentum and then go on to get the winner at the end.
“We had a few chances before Tegan managed to get the winner. But we’ve spoke the last few weeks about being a bit more clinical in the final third, about being more relaxed in the final third.
“What a fantastic finish,” she noted on Bowie’s winner. “She had a lot of time and space to think about it, but she showed fantastic composure to put the ball in the back of the net.
The match was also particularly memorable for Rosie Livingstone, who made her 100th appearance in green and white – a landmark that fills Murray with pride.
“I’m extremely proud of Rosie, she’s a character on and off the pitch. The impact she’s had this season has been unbelievable.
“I had a feeling, we spoke, the two of us at the start of the season, about this season being the one for her, being her standout, being her breakthrough. And it’s been that in abundance.
“I’m delighted for her today to make her 100th appearance for the club.”
Goal scorer Bowie told Hibs TV, “I’m buzzing. I’m not a regular goal scorer and it was quite a tight game, so to get the winner, I’m delighted.
“I think it was quite rushed, just trying to get the subs on, but [the messaging] was just to try and make an impact as much as you can, cause threats in the time I had on the pitch. And just try and be a threat.
“I’m delighted, as I said I’m not really a goal scorer but when that ball came I knew I just had to be composed, just take my time with it and slot it home – which I did so that was good.”
It was Bowie’s first league goal of the season, with the winger more known for her tireless work rate and bountiful assist count.
The crucial strike ensured Hibs remained unbeaten against City throughout the entire league campaign – and also move above Celtic in the league table.
“I think it was massive, obviously City, it was a massive game for them, it was a must-win, they’re a tough team to play against.
“I think the message before the game was just take it game by game, three points at a time and six more to go to, so hopefully we finish on a high.”
Looking ahead to next week, Bowie added: “Partick are a tough side as well, a very organised side.
“They get stuck in and obviously it was probably an unfortunate result for us last time around [versus Partick Thistle].
“I think Petershill is a difficult venue to go to so we just need to prepare well and make sure we get the three points.”
