Chris Harris guests for Edinburgh Monarchs when they entertain outstanding Poole Pirates, a team with strength in-depth, in Friday’s first leg of the BSN Series semi-final.
The Glasgow star (pictured in the pits) replaces Monarchs’ injured rider Dan Thompson and Harris top scored with 15 points for Tigers at Poole in a 55-35 defeat in the Cab Direct Championship on Wednesday. The man nicknamed ‘Bomber’ gives 100 per cent commitment and effort.
Pirates have strong heat leaders, a powerful guest replacement for Fraser Bowes in Workington’s Tate Zischke, plus much talked-about reserve duo of Will Cairns and Cooper Rushen.
Monarchs lost 50-40 in the Cab Direct Championship at Oxford Cheetahs on Wednesday but still gained a bonus point and Alex Harkess, Monarchs’ team manager, will look to his men to deliver against Pirates.
He said: “Poole are strong throughout and, when you add to that two reserves on very low points averages, then it is obviously going to be a tough test for anyone. We’ve just got to try and use Armadale to our advantage.”
Friday’s match will be live streamed on www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk.
