Gordon Marshall, the son of Hearts legend, Gordon Snr, will join the Tynecastle club as goalkeeping coach and the former Scotland goalkeeper will take up his position in June, leaving his current role at St Johnstone.
Marshall had successful playing career with Falkirk, Celtic, Kilmarnock and Motherwell before hanging up his gloves and he has previously worked with Jambos’ head coach, Derek McInnes, at St Johnstone and Aberdeen.
Joining his staff is Jamie MacDonald. The Scottish Cup-winning goalkeeper has retired following two years with Hearts’ B Team and he becomes the club’s goalkeeping coach analyst, responsible for preparing, supporting and developing the men’s first team and goalkeepers through all levels of performance analysis and coaching.
Steve Walker is the club’s head of medical. He spent 23 years at Rangers as their youth and reserve team physio between 2003 and 2011, and first team physio from 2011, until this month. He will head the club’s medical department, tasked with ensuring the first team is in peak physical condition.
Finally, Will Lancefield, head of recruitment, is leaving to join Luton Town. He joined the Jambos in 2021 and has played a key role in identifying targets and bringing them to the club and then integrating Jamestown Analytics into the club’s recruitment structure.
