Berwick Bandits track three ex-Edinburgh Monarchs racers in their line-up for the BSN Series opener at Armadale on Friday in Victor Palovaara, Jye Etheridge and Lasse Fredriksen.
The Borders club also boast a powerful spearhead of Peter Kildemand and Nick Morris, but Monarchs’ management are happy with their 2026.
It is spearheaded by 21-year-old Englishman, Dan Thompson, who will be backed by an experienced trio of Paco Castagna, Justin Sedgmen and Kye Thomson.
The younger team members are Swedish rider Jonatan Grahn and Aussie due Jordy Loftus and Mitch Cluff and Monarchs’ bosses have high hopes.
Alex Harkess, Monarchs’ team manager, is looking for his team to be strong from the start and he said: “We just have to be sure that we do our job, win the match and get off to a good start.”
He admitted that Berwick have riders who are capable of scoring double figures, but they have also been to Armadale and had very poor nights.
For the record, the top team in the group qualifies automatically so the first task, said Harkess, is to win on Friday (tapes-up 7.30pm) followed by a good showing at Berwick in the return on Saturday (7pm).
