Glasgow Tigers team manager, Cami Brown, admitted his side must go up a level after they exited the KO Cup following a 51-39 defeat in their quarter-final, second-leg, in Devon.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers lost by eight points on aggregate (94-86) after a challenging meeting which lasted almost three hours.
Brown (pictured right by Nigel Duncan) said: “Plymouth are a good side this season, but we didn’t push them hard enough. Our top five matched their top five. The difference was from the reserve berths. They had a trump card in Daniel Klima.”
Overall, Brown declared: “It’s extremely disappointing. Our boys weren’t getting out of the starts and it was difficult to pass, and I can’t fault the team for effort. They literally tried everything in the pits with set-ups.
“The boys rallied and kept at it with two late 5-1s from Kyle Howarth and Chris Harris. It improved at the end but it was too little, too late. In the end, the scoreline probably flattered us.”
Brown added: “We are all gutted that our poor cup record continues. We had poor luck at Ashfield in the first leg with mechanical issues and the damage was done in the last four races in the first-leg.”
