Livingston host Aberdeen on Friday (kick-off 19.45) and Marvin Bartey is hungry for more after his men beat St Mirren in their opening game after the split.
It was only their second win of the season in the William Hill Premiership and ex-Hibs midfielder Bartley admitted that the 2-0 win at Paisley was a massive relief for the players.
The Lions are still nine points adrift of second-bottom Kilmarnock who have 28 points and there are four games remaining, but the players and staff at Almondvale still believe.
Bartley knows all about a battle as he was part of a Bournemouth squad which avoided relegation despite a 17-point deduction but keeping Livi up would be, he said, the best thing he has achieved in football.
He said it was all about the next game at Bournemouth, and it is all about the next game now. The St Mirren result – an own goal from Gogic and a superb counter from Pittman – made him “greedy” for more.
The Livi boss added: “The are a level group. It’s been a tough season, but the boys came in on Monday and resumed training again and that is a testament to the group.”
Bartley’s men are up against an improving Aberdeen side and he acknowledged that Stephen Robinson has put his own stamp on The Dons who have beaten Hibs 2-0 and Kilmarnock 1-0 in their last two matches.
They have scored 34 goals and let in 48 in their league matches so far. Livi have scored 37 and conceded 66, the same as Killie.
He said: “He’s (Stephen Robinson) got good players and they’re (Aberdeen) in a good place. All we can do is try to win the next game.”
Meanwhile, midfield player, Macauley Tait, said last weekend’s victory had lifted the dressing-room at The Home of the Set Fare Arena and he added: “It’s been tough for us, the staff and the fans so, hopefully, we can finish on a positive.”
