Hibs remain six points behind fourth place Motherwell after a 0-0 draw at Fir Park this afternoon.

Davd Gray two changes from his side’s goalless draw against bottom side Livingston.

Jack Iredale and Owen Elding dropped to the bench with Martin Boyle making his 400th appearance for the Club and Jordan Obita in from the start.

Jens Berthel Askou also made two changes from the side that lost 3-1 at Celtic last weekend.

Emmanuel Longelo missed out through suspension following his red card, while Ibrahim Said dropped to the bench.

Stephen Welsh, who was unavailable to face parent club Celtic, returned to the starting line-up and Oscar Priestman also started.

Hibs lined up in their all-black away kit.

The first chance of note came in the 20th minute when Nicky Cadden’s low cross from the left just evaded Ante Suto and Boyle.

But two minutes later Motherwell thought they had taken the lead.

Boyle lost possession in midfield and Paul McGinn’s tackle fell to Oscar Priestman.

His effort was blocked and fell to Elijah Just who rolled it into the bottom corner.

A VAR check however showed Priestman was offside in the build up.

Jamie McGrath was harshly booked for a challenge on Elliot Watt in midfield when it looked as though he had won the ball.

And he was later joined in the book by teammate Dan Barlaser for pulling back an opponent.

Just after the restart Stephen O’Donnell cut back to Tawanda Maswanhise in the middle but his effort from 12-yards was well saved by Raphael Sallinger.

At the other end a long ball from Barlaser found Cadden who in turn found McGrath inside the area bus his strike was blocked by Watt for a corner.

In the 66th minute Boyle almost marked his 400th appearance with a volley which flew inches over the top.

Boyle and Suto then made wat for Elding and Dane Scarlett.

Warren O’Hora went close with a header from a Cadden corner from the right.

Felix Passlack then tested Calum Ward as Hibs looked to secure the victory.

But it was not to be and the game finished goalless.
