It was an incredibly close finish in the first match of the year hosted by the Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers (SFSA). Three anglers hooked into 34 fish each.
David Cooper (Edinburgh) and Ian Campbell (Falkirk) both had 34 fish in Zone A while Chris Cooper, David’s younger brother, had 34 fish in Zone B.
Second in Zone B was David Neil (Ayrshire) while Gordon Lyall (Edinburgh) had the longest fish of 28cm in the four-hour event held at the Western Harbour at Newhaven.
This was a pegged, catch, measure and release match with a minimum size of 15cm.
The next leg of the series run by the SFSA is in April.
