On loan defender Zach Mitchell was delighted to finally pull on the Hibs jersey for the first time and make his debut for the Club in yesterday’s draw with Dundee United at Tannadice.
The 20-year-old had to wait patiently for his first opportunity following his summer loan switch from Charlton Athletic, and performed admirably.
Hibs drew the game 1-1 and after the final whistle Mitchell gave his assessment on the performance.
“We wanted to get more out of the game. We perhaps fell into a way of playing that didn’t represent us, and came away from what we wanted to do and our game plan.
“It’s a good point to come away with, though, it’s a tough place to come. We will look back on it, take the positives and learn from areas where we needed to be better.”
Now he’s made his debut, Mitchell is eager to keep his place in the team, especially with a number of important games coming up.
“I am delighted to have made my debut. It’s a been a frustrating period at times waiting for it, but I’m delighted to wear Hibs’ shirt; it gives me a great sense of pride.
“I’m ready for whatever comes. We have some important games coming up and I’m excited for them. The team has the potential to go on a good run.”
