Martin Boyle praises fellow striker Kieron Bowie following Falkirk double

Hibs striker Martin Boyle was pleased with the way Hibs played in yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Falkirk at Easter Road.

Hibs started the game strongly and deservedly took the lead from the penalty spot. Boyle was fouled before getting up to smash the spot kick down the middle past Scott Bain in the Falkirk goal.

A Kieron Bowie brace followed as Hibs returned to winning ways in the William Hill Premiership.

After the match, Boyle praised the way the players approached today’s game.

“I thought we were really good today. We had spells in the first half that were really positive and taking the game to them. We were the fresher side because of their midweek game, so it was important to have a fast start.

“Second half we probably disappointed ourselves but managed to see it out, got the third goal and killed off the game.

“That goal was really important; they had the disallowed goal because the defensive line stood strong. We were good defensively today, and that’s another clean sheet, which is positive.

“For the third goal Kieron was in the right position and he’s scoring goals, which is perfect.”

That’s now two in two for Martin Boyle, who’s been determined to be back among the goals today.

“I’m delighted to be scoring goals. I’m still a bit angry and disappointed myself for the chances that I’ve missed this season. I should be doing better.

“I’ve kept going, I know the goals will come. I’m delighted for Kieron today and it’s really good that both strikers were on the scoresheet today.”
