With the World Cup on the horizon in the summer and a busy run of fixtures over the festive period, Hibs striker Kieron Bowie has scored three goals in his last four games, taking his tally to seven for the season.
And he is eager to add to that number on a more consistent basis.
Looking back on his season so far, he told hibernianfc.co.uk:
“I started the season well, which kind of set the standard and then dropped off after that. Thankfully, I have managed to get a few recently, and I just need to keep the goals coming more consistently now.
“As a striker, you aren’t going to score goals every single week. You can go through blips; that is normal, but it is all about keeping the right attitude.
“Sometimes you come off the pitch when you don’t score, and you are raging, as a striker – that is how it is – you need to be selfish sometimes.
“When I wasn’t scoring, the Gaffer emphasised that I still had an important role in the team, holding the ball up and we were getting results from that as well.
“It is all about making sure you keep getting in the right position, keep asking for the ball. I might miss a sitter now and again, but as long as I am getting in those positions, that is the most important thing.”
Hibs face away trips to Ibrox and Tannadice before Christmas, with Hearts and Aberdeen visiting Easter Road in the final week of the year. The Scotland international insists spirits and belief is high heading into a pivotal run of fixtures.
“The game is on Monday, so we have had a good time to prepare for it. Against Rangers and Celtic, you always want to do well, I feel we have done quite well this season – but the results haven’t gone our way – so we need to make sure we hold our own.
“It doesn’t matter who are you are playing against, I just need to keep scoring goals – that is all that matters.”
