Josh Mulligan rued Hibs missed chances in yesterday’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Celtic at Easter Road.
And he insists the players need to stick together and focus on next week’s home game against on-form Falkirk.
After a bright start, Hibs conceded twice in the space of two minutes. Martin Boyle did pull one back from the penalty spot in the second half, but despite piling on the pressure Hibs couldn’t find an equaliser and Celtic claimed all three points.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Josh Mulligan was frustrated not to get anything from the game.
“There wasn’t much in the game to be honest, they took their chances and we didn’t unfortunately.
“We started the game really well, but then a mistake cost us and that led to their first goal. Then to lose another straight after was really disappointing.
“The mistake came from trying to play out from the back. We were trying to do the right thing. For the second, we got the press wrong a wee bit and it cost us. We need to look at that, as the same thing happened on Tuesday night and it cost us.
“We got back into the game in the second half, and got a goal back. We had chances to equalise but we couldn’t take them and that is the main disappointment.
“Especially against a quality team like Celtic – if you don’t take your chances, then you will get punished.”
Up next, we host Falkirk at Easter Road and Mulligan is eager to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible.
“We need to stick together, that is two losses in a row now – so we need to bounce back next week.
“Next week is a big game and we all need to look forward to that now.”
