Hibs follow up derby win with victory over Aberdeen

Hibs followed up their derby victory with a well deserved win against Aberdeen at Easter Road tonight

David Gray made two changes to his starting line up. Kieron Bowie dropped out of the squad with illness and was replaced by Thibault Klidje.

One of the other goalscorers against Hearts, Josh Campbell, kept his place as Nicky Cadden missed out with injury.

Hibs started on the front foot and first chance fell to Martin Boyle who tried to lob the keeper but his effort was overhit and landed on top of the net.

Boyle was later forced to leave the field after picking up an injury and he was replaced by Elie Youan.

The only other chance in a drab first half was a long range effort from Josh Mulligan which was well saved.

Shortly after the restart Cambpell squared the ball for Youan to tap in but some great defending from Alexander Jensen denied the substitute.

Youan then unleashed a fierce drive from inside the box that drifted wide of the far post as Hibs looked to take the lead.

The goal eventually arrived following some good work from Youan who exchanged passes with Jamie McGrath, before squaring the ball for Klidje to finish from close range.

Aberdeen thought they had equalised with 10-minutes remaining but Kevin Nisbet was correctly adjudged to have been offside in the build up, much to the relief of the Hibs fans.

Hibs sealed the victory in added time after a mistake by Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov.

Josh Mulligan powered his way to the edge of the box, and found Junior Hoilett who fired the ball into the net from an acute angle.
