Hibs youngsters return to the European stage this midweek as they host FC 2 Korriku in UEFA Youth League action under the lights at Easter Road.
Darren McGregor’s side divert their attention away from their unbeaten league start to take on the Kosovan champions in the domestic champions path second round; with kick-off set for 7:45pm on Wednesday 22 October.
The youngsters head into Wednesday’s clash unbeaten in their opening five league fixtures, most recently seeing off Dundee United last Tuesday afternoon at HTC.
Adam Buckley headed in the opener at HTC, before Dean Cleland fired in a brace to seal all three points and keep the side’s seven point lead at the top of the table secure.
Wednesday marks Hibs’ first venture into continental competition since the 2022/23 season.
In the early rounds, we defeated Norwegian club Molde and French side Nantes under the management of Steve Kean across two-legged ties.
Our exciting run came to an end in the knockout rounds, as we narrowly lost out to German giants Borussia Dortmund in front of over 7,500 supporters in Leith.
Jacob Blaney opened the scoring at Easter Road to put Hibs ahead, but a 70th minute equaliser and a last-minute winner sent eventual quarter-finalists Dortmund through.
FC 2 Korriku made their UEFA Youth League debut last season, and now return for a second consecutive season as Kosovan youth champions.
The Pristina-based club defeated Albanian side Bylis and Irish outfit UCD in the first and second round, respectively, last season, before losing out to Dynamo Kyiv 9-1 on aggregate in the play-off round.
Hibs will face Korriku over two ties, home and away, with the second leg – to be played at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium – scheduled for Wednesday 5 November; kick-off 7pm local time.

Due to broadcast restrictions, the only way to back the team on Wednesday night is to watch on in-person at Easter Road.
Young fans (under 13) can attend the match at Easter Road for free, while tickets prices for all other supporter groups are set at just £5!
