Hibernian Women will host Hearts on Sunday 16 November at Easter Road for the Capital Cup.
Supporters can once again secure free tickets, thanks to the generous support of Baillie Gifford.
Support from Baillie Gifford has helped the Edinburgh Derby clash break the domestic attendance record in Scotland – twice!
A crowd of 5,512 supporters watched on as Hibs defeated Hearts 3-0 at Easter Road in September 2021, before the record was broken once more when 8,066 fans attended a thrilling Hibs Capital Cup triumph the next year.
Hibernian FC Non-Executive Vice-Chair Kathrin Hamilton, who is also a Partner at Baillie Gifford and Chair of Baillie Gifford Overseas Ltd, commented: “Capital Cup matches are always a great day for the community.
“It’s lovely to see families coming out and being able to have a day at the football. It is not something everyone can afford, so it is nice to open that up to everyone in Edinburgh.
“It is about community, it is about people getting to support their club. But even more so than that, it is important part of many young children’s life in Edinburgh. It is great to have kids come along and see professional players, to help them gain that motivation to play themselves and to stay fit.
“It is lovely to see the crowds. Everyone goes away with a smile on their face, which you can’t always say when you go and see your team at the weekend. The Capital Cup is a bit special in that way.”
Hibernian FC Women Team Manager Grant Scott added: “Baillie Gifford’s support is absolutely massive. What they are doing – and have been doing for a few years now – in supporting these events at both club’s stadiums is making the off-pitch spectacle better.
“Their continued support helps us to continue to try and grow the game, grow the fanbases, and grow the interest.”
