Hibs head coach David Gray singled out striker Thibault Klidje for special praise following yesterday’s 4-0 victory over Livingston at Easter Road.

Goals from Klidje, Jamie McGrath and Junior Hoilett brace sealed all three points, in what was an excellent performance from Gray’s men.

When speaking after the game, Gray heaped praise on his players and in particular Klidje who was rewarded for his performance with the man of the match award.

“I’m delighted for him on a personal note. He had to be patient and wait for his opportunity. We’ve been patient with him as well because he’s new to the group, in a new culture, a new way of working and getting used to what we were looking for. He took his opportunity today.

“He worked the game plan running in behind and being a constant threat. I’m delighted he got his goal because you want your strikers to be scoring goals.

“I got a reaction and everything I asked for before the game. The players gave me that reaction, intensity and everything we were looking for.

“I’m delighted for the players because they deserved that. Their level of performance this season hasn’t always got the rewards or points they deserve. We deserved that today. To a man we were excellent, the subs came on at the right time and made an impact, and we finished the game really strong.

“We got a clean sheet too, which starts from the very front and I don’t think Rafa (Raphael Sallinger) had any saves to make. We were really strong defensively from set pieces, which was another pleasing thing.

“All in all, a good day’s work.”
