Edinburgh Eagles are once Scotland’s champion rugby league club after defeating Glasgow 30-24 in the grand final at Cambuslang.

The defending champions scored six tries but had to come back from a 4-12 half-time deficit and when it looked like the match would go to a golden point decider Peter Burns grabbed the decisive touchdown from a pass by Apenai Kororua.

Burns had crossed earlier along with Jordan Duncan (2) Kyle Smith and Viliame Rokobuli. Rory Hamilton kicked three conversions.

Eagles coach Ash Carroll told the European Rugby League website: “A great spectacle on a knife-edge throughout.”
