Luci’s is an inviting, family friendly restaurant on the south side of Edinburgh on the High Street in Lasswade.
As you enter there’s a relaxed, modern, minimalist vibe with a variety of music genres playing in the background (although at times a little loud). The menu focuses on Italian food which has something for most tastes, including meat, fish and vegetarian.
This is an easily accessible destination as it is situated only a five minute drive from the City Bypass with its own small car park. There is limited on street parking outside with no designated disabled parking bays, however there are disabled access and toilet facilities in the restaurant.
And if there is no space in the car park there is a shared car park close by with a short, pretty walk back to the restaurant.
Cheese lovers will be ecstatic as many dishes on the menu have cheese in them (maybe not so good for anyone who is lactose intolerant). Gluten free options are available for pizza and pasta dishes. It is probably best to mention any allergies when booking and the staff will do all they can to cater for them.
Everything is freshly cooked on the premises so do expect a short wait while your food is prepared, it’s worth it. Portions are generous, beautifully presented, and tasty and staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
There is a relaxing cocktail bar at the back with a lovely view over the river. The drinks list is extensive running to eight pages with both delicious cocktails and mocktails and of course red, white and rosé wines to suit every palate.
If you are planning a large gathering for a special occasion, there is a mezzanine level which can accommodate parties of up to 28 people – although unfortunately there is no disabled access up to this level.
All in all it is well worth a visit to Lasswade’s little secret. And we will be excited to return after a proposed makeover in the autumn.
