The World Snooker Tour have confirmed the quarter-final line-ups for the BetVictor Scottish Open which continues at Meadowbank in Edinburgh today.
Scotland’s last hope, John Higgins, goes in against Leicester-based Tom Ford, ranked No 18 in the world, six places below the Wishaw-based Scot, at 19.00.
The 40-year-old Englishman has been runner-up three times in ranking events and his highest ranking in the world was 16 in November this year.
Tyneside-based defending champion Gary Wilson, No 20 in the world, faces 31-year-old Chris Wakelin from Rugby and he is currently ranked two places below the man nicknamed The Tyneside Terror. That match is in the afternoon session starting at 14.00.
Leeds-born Sanderson Lam, ranked No 69, has been drawn against Noppon Saenglham from Thailand, a four-time semi-finalist in ranking events, who is currently No 26, at 19.00.
The snooker starts at noon when 47-year-old Stuart Bingham from Basildon, a former world champion and Masters champion, ranked No 25, faces Chinese star Zhou Yuelong, ranked four places above him. Yeulong has been runner-up in three ranking events.
