As a primary school teacher I am responsible for delivering high quality learning and teaching experiences. I have worked with different local communities over the years as a teacher to improve educational experiences and outcomes for children. A big focus for me has been outdoor learning and seeing the amazing problem solving skills this brings out in children and young people.

What are the Main Issues you will campaign on?
Saving greenbelt and greenfield sites. For too long property developers in Balerno, Currie and Ratho have used every trick in the book to build on land that has high environmental value. This needs to be protected. The City Plan 2030 by Edinburgh city council does not go far enough in protecting Edinburgh’s greenbelt. It’s time brownfield sites were looked at to meet our housing needs.

What do you consider to be your party’s achievements or legacy during the last council session?
I’m delighted that all primary children at school will have access to free school meals at school by August 2022 thanks to the Scottish Green Party. This is a small change that will have a big impact in reducing food poverty and stigma across south west Edinburgh. In modern Scotland, we know it is unacceptable for children to go hungry while being a very wealthy country. So children can reach their full potential, hunger should never be a barrier to successful learning. Secondly, I am proud that Scottish Green Party colleagues argued successfully for a visitor levy which recognises the need for additional funding for our high quality public city services which we all depend on.

What is the thing few people would know about you?
I am a treehouse enthusiast – I love all the different shapes, sizes and colours they come in.
