The Scottish Government has issued figures today of the number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The figures as at 7 October are as follows:
Number of new cases of Covid-19 reported today – 1054 new cases which is 13 % of those tested
Number of deaths reported today of people who have tested positive – 1 (A total of 2,533 deaths in total under that measurement.)
Number of people in Intensive Care Units in Scotland – 28 which is an increase of 3
Number of people in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19 – 319 which is an increase of 57
Number of new tests for Covid-19 with results reported – 17,344
Public Health Scotland confirmed that the number of new cases in Lothian is 190
The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon is making an address to Parliament this afternoon about new restrictions in light of rising figures.
