Celtic manager Neil Lennon described his players’ performance in yesterday’s victory over Hibs as the best he’s seen this season so far.

He described stadium Man of the March Jeremie Frimpong as the “catalyst of the team”  and likewise hailed Nir Bitton for his performance in the heart of the Celtic defence.

The former Hibs’ boss also praised David Turnbull, on for the injured Ryan Christie at half-time, and was delighted with the efforts of his captain Scott Brown.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the final whistle Lennon said: “That’s our best performance of the season and I think it’s one of the best in my time here as manager, whether that be in my first spell or back again for my second,” said Neil Lennon. “I thought it was breath-taking, I thought the football we played was outstanding against a very good side who have come here full of confidence.

“I thought we were absolutely magnificent in all departments, so I’m very happy.”

“I thought Scott Brown was Man of the Match, I thought he was brilliant. I know some people have been questioning him, sometimes he takes a little bit to get going, he needs the games, but I thought he was imperious today.

“His leg haven’t gone, we’ve got all the data and see him every day. He’s so important to us, he’s the fulcrum of the team, on and off the field. His performance today was magnificent.”
