NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR GOLF INN AIMS TO MAKE VENUE WELL ABOVE PAR

Continuing to forge ahead with its new business plan, with improved food, service, and accommodation across the board, The Golf Inn at No1 Golf Place, St Andrews, has announced the appointment of a new General Manager.

Scott Farmer, from Cupar, who joins the business from Taypark House, Dundee, brings seventeen years of experience in the hospitality industry to the table, fifteen years of which have been at management level.

Prior to his time at Taypark, Scott worked for Innis & Gunn in Dundee, and before this at the popular Dunfermline pub, The Elizabethan, where he was responsible for delivering a £1 million food turnover in the first year of trading following a refurbishment of the business.

Scott will work closely alongside Head Chef Rory Macrimmon, as well as themselves, and owners Brett and Gillian Lawrence feel that they have assembled a real powerhouse.

“With Scott having joined us, we now have the perfect team on board to deliver all expectations that our superbly situated venue offers,” said Brett. “We’ve kicked things off this year by introducing a new bar snacks and drinks menu, plus a new full lunch and dinner menu. Scott will be instrumental in this, ensuring that we have a high level of service to match our food and drink choices.”

Scott Farmer said : “As a Fifer from nearby Cupar, I am thrilled to find such as fantastic position, virtually on my doorstep, here in the home of golf.

“This is a superb opportunity for me to continue my hospitality career, and I am really excited about what lies ahead. The Golf Inn has everything going for it to ensure a healthy market share of trade in St Andrews, and I am ready to make that happen.”
