The event will include a range of special discounts and tastings. Discounts for Members of the charity will also run throughout the weekend (29 November to 01 December). All profits from the shopping event will be used to support the charity’s education and conservation work.

Members who attend the event will have the chance to purchase a selection of locally-sourced items and eco-friendly gifts for children and adults alike, including eco-accessories, books, jewellery, local food, toiletries and toys. They will receive Member-Only discounts on a whole host of items over the weekend, including a delicious Christmas lunch (turkey with all the trimmings) in the Seabird Café, with its outstanding views of the Bass Rock.

A new interactive Discovery Experience will open in mid-December. Those who attend the Christmas shopping event will hear how the upgraded exhibition space will bring the wonder of Scotland’s marine habitats to life. Members can enjoy free entry to the Discovery Experience for the duration of their membership, alongside a number of other discounts and benefits.

Nigel Ward, Operations Manager, at the Seabird Centre, said: “As we near the completion of our exciting Discovery Experience transformation, we have organised this exclusive Christmas shopping event as a special thank you to all of our members for their invaluable support.

“Scotland’s marine environment is rich in a variety of habitats and wildlife, many of which are under threat from climate change, over-fishing, pollution and marine industries. The income generated by our members, and through our shop and café, plays a vital role in helping us continue our conservation and educational work to raise awareness of the importance of Scotland’s marine environment and help protect it for generations to come.

“Our retail team will be on hand throughout our Christmas shopping event to provide top tips, recommendations and tastings. We hope that the event leaves our members feeling good that their gift choices are perfect for their friends and family. It is set to be a great weekend and we look forward to welcoming everyone there.”

New members who sign up for Seabird Centre Membership in the lead up to the event or even during the weekend can also enjoy the special benefits of this exclusive members’ event.
