‘FLIPPING GREAT’ WORK FROM HUGH RAISES CASH FOR GREEN CAUSE
Environmental campaigners have congratulated Hugh Paton on his ‘flipping great’ fundraising effort.
His revolutionary activities have raised over £1,200 to support the work of Friends of the Earth Scotland. Hugh (24) from Dunbar, back flipped a whole mile along Belhaven Beach in East Lothian.
Hugh, an Assistant Countryside Ranger at the Loch of the Lowes nature reserve, back flipped an extraordinary 447 times to cover a full mile across the beach.
Hugh said, “I wanted to help protect our earth, which Friends of the Earth Scotland are dedicated to doing. Using my skills as a flipping enthusiast, I decided to backflip for a whole mile! It felt amazing to actually finish it, 447 flips later!”
Kerrigan Bell, Development Manager for Friends of the Earth Scotland commented,
“We think what Hugh has done is flipping great! We’re delighted that Hugh decided to raise much needed funds for Friends of the Earth Scotland as we rely on people who care about our planet to support our work. That way, we can keep fighting for a healthy environment and a fair world, where people live in balance with nature – a world free from plastic pollution, with clean air, renewable energy and a safe climate for all”.
