Edinburgh Monarchs bosses Cameron Heeps can maintain his early season form when they travel to Glasgow Tigers on Sunday (tapes-up 3pm) in the SGB Championship.

The Australian ace collected 15 points, his highest score at Armadale, in Friday’s 45-43league defeat by Tigers.

Former Monarchs skipper Craig Cook powered to a 15-point maximum as Glasgow came from six points adrift to extend their unbeaten league record to four matches.

Tigers have moved into third spot in the 11-strong table with 12 points and ninth-placed Monarchs have worries over No 1 Ricky Wells, their captain, who is complaining of a wrist injury.

Cami Brown, Tigers’ team manager, is looking to Cook to back up his 15-point maximum at Edinburgh.

And he praised 16-year-old Kyle Bickley, who scored ten points on Friday, claiming it was a “fantastic score” on a track the youngster does not like.

Brown added: “Everybody chipped in (at Armadale) and when we were six points down we did not quit, we kept fighting.

“The boys put in masses of effort and this result bodes well for other places as I don’t think many teams will come to Edinburgh and win twice in a season as we have done so far.”

Meanwhile, Berwick Bandits postponed their scheduled clash with Scunthorpe Scorpions on Saturday.
