Berwick Bandits host Scunthorpe Scorpions on Saturday (tapes-up 7pm) and it is a big match for both clubs.

Bandits are ninth in the 11-strong SGB Championship with four points from three meetings.
Scorpions are one place above with four points from four outings.

And Gary Flint, Bandits’ team manager, will be anxious to shake off the disappointment of being knocked out of the SGB Championship Shield by Leicester Lions at the semi-final stage.

He will look to his senior riders like Aaron Summers and skipper Kevin Doolan to spearhead the race for points.

Meanwhile, Berwick’s Leon Flint (pictured by TazMcD) will ride for Team GB in the under-21 World Championship Final at Belle Vue on Friday, July 12.

He takes the place of former Glasgow Tigers rider Jack Thomas who has stood down from the sport.

And Bandits bosses have thanked fans who generously contributed to the collection staged in aid of injured teenager Sam Norris who was hurt in a recent Youth race in Glasgow and remains in hospital.
