A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP THAT’S 20 YEARS IN THE BAKING!
Kenmore Bakery used its special 25th Anniversary Afternoon Tea, held on Saturday at the bakery in Acharn, Kenmore, to thank one of its most loyal customers in the Highland Perthshire area, which has been buying the bakery’s award winning shortbread for nearly twenty years.
Five star Mains of Taymouth Country Estate & Golf Course, also in Kenmore, includes Kenmore shortbread in the welcome packs which go into all of its four and five star self catering cottages, prior to guests arriving.
As General Manager Pauline McLaren explained, the estate is keen to use as many local suppliers as it can, and enjoys a very close relationship with Keith and Sheila Mitchell who run Kenmore Bakery.
“We are delighted to be one of Kenmore Bakery’s longest running customers.
Pauline said : “Their shortbread, and other products they make, are always first class, and never vary in quality. We get excellent feedback from our guests on the shortbread – it’s the little touches, such as these welcome packs, that they really appreciate. It’s really nice to offer a local product too, and support that business through ours.
“We started off twenty years ago buying around twenty four packets of shortbread a month, now it’s more like fifty packs a week.
“Often we have seen guests go home with several packs of shortbread which they can buy in our on-site deli, The Courtyard Shop.
“It’s a little taste of Highland Perthshire that they are taking back with them.”
Pauline went on to comment that nothing was too much trouble for Keith and Sheila, who, over the years, had always been happy to produce something bespoke for Mains of Taymouth if required– such as specially shaped, or larger sized, shortbread.
She continued : “On occasion, Kenmore Bakery has given us lovely thistle shaped shortbread for special hampers.
“Keith and Sheila have taken their business to the next level, with all their trade customers all over Scotland, but they have never forgotten the customers on their doorstep. We are delighted for them in celebrating twenty five years of the business – their success is so well deserved, and long may it continue.”
“Many of us gathered on Saturday at the afternoon tea to celebrate with Keith and Sheila. It was a lovely afternoon.”
Sheila Mitchell commented : “Mains of Taymouth was one of our very first regular customers. Our association with them as a five star operator has been instrumental in helping us grow the business over the years, and attract other five star businesses as customers.”
“We wish to thank everyone for coming along at the weekend. It meant such a lot to us.”
Kenmore Bakery’s lovingly crafted biscuits, shortbread, and tablet, are the winners of some 39 Gold Stars from the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste National Awards.
