Globe-trotting The RAZ Duo (Andre Krengel and Roland Krause) are booked into The Grey Horse, Balerno, on Friday, May 10 (7.30pm).

They are two brilliant German virtuoso guitarists who first met 20 or so years ago.

Their musical adventures together took them throughout Europe and on to Miami, Florida performing in festivals, jazz clubs, theatres and art centres.

In 1999 each went his separate way from Florida. André’s solo tours then as now take him around and around the world – in 2015/2016 he played almost 100 concerts in the US, Canada, UK, Poland, Germany, Italy and Austria.

He has received cultural awards and worked with world-class artists such as Carles Benavent, Domingo Patricio, Rod Stewart, Rafael Cortes.

In 2016, André toured the UK, Moldova and Bulgaria with Lulo Reinhardt (also a fabulously talented guitarist). Roland, meanwhile, after leaving Florida went to California, then Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Spain and Asia, where he spent many years performing in clubs, luxury hotels and resorts and undertook projects with musicians like Ber Ortoli (Les Negresses Vertes) and gypsy swing guitarists.

Re-united since 2016, Andre and Roland have developed into a really exciting duo with great music while exuding sheer, brilliant joie de vivre, as they look back on their many adventures but with an eye on what the future holds.

Join Andre and Roland on their musical travels and allow yourself to fall under their spell at The Grey Horse on Friday, May 10 (7.30pm).
