Hibs are supporting Show Racism the Red Card’s Fortnight of Action.
In addition to increasing the awareness of SRtRC’s work in Scotland, the Fortnight of Action from 5th- 19th October, shows commitment at the highest level of Scottish football to eradicate racism and discrimination of any form from the game.
All professional clubs will show their support over one weekend – Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October. Clubs will be united in calling for an end to racism in football and society. Players in over 40 European countries are involved in similar events as part of FARE network against racism and discrimination.
Club captain and Show Racism the Red Card ambassador David Gray spoke of the squad’s commitment to the campaign.
He said: “It is important that we continue to stress that no form of discrimination has any place in our sport, as well as society in general.
“The Club has a strong history of inclusiveness and the current squad has players from a range of different countries and different religious backgrounds. It’s great to have such a diverse group.
“Everyone at the club is proud to be backing Show Racism the Red Card’s positive message about inclusiveness in sport and in everyday life.”
