Edinburgh City continued their rich vein of form when they defeated Berwick Rangers 3-0 at Ainslie Park to remain at the summit of Ladbrokes League Two.
Prolific scorer Blair Henderson grabbed two second half goals to take his tally to 9 for the season. Marc Laird had opened the scoring in the first half.
City produced another impressive performance and dominated the game from start to finish. With better luck they could easily have added to their goal tally.
It’s not difficult to see why they are at the top of the league. Their passing is slick and with players such as former Hearts pair Craig Thomson and Conrad Balatoni solid in defence, former Hibernian player Danny Handling patrolling midfield and the constant goal threat of Henderson and ex-Falkirk player Scott Shepherd, City look a good bet for promotion this season.
City manager James McDonaugh was the winner of the SPFL Manager of the Month for League Two for September. It was good to see the ‘curse’ of winning this award didn’t affect City on Saturday!
Berwick Rangers manager Robbie Horn – the former Hearts defender – resigned after his side’s defeat.
