Stobo Castle Ladies Day Is Another Musselburgh Sell-Out
Former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts to be Queen of Style Judge
Musselburgh Racecourse’s Stobo Castle Ladies Day on Saturday is another capacity crowd sell-out.
The 2 June race day is Scotland’s most prestigious horse racing event and the racecourse is pulling out all the stops to ensure the more than 10,000 race goers have a day to remember.
All hospitality packages were sold months ago and the remaining general admission tickets have also sold out for what is widely regarded as Scotland’s premium race day.
More than £105,000 in prize money is on offer over the seven Flat races, which includes the £40,000 Listed race, the Stobo Castle Ladies Day Gold Cup.
Former Pussycat Dolls band member and Dancing on Ice judge Ashley Roberts will take part in the three-person judging panel who will select the Queen of Style winner, with the final hosted by radio and stage star Grant Stott.
Several changes to the established format will delight guests who flock to Musselburgh for a day of action-packed racing and wall-to-wall glamour. Arts and events specialist Rogue Village will add stylish twists to dress the main Stage Marquee in spectacular fashion and featuring botanical chandeliers and floral installations while live ice sculpting will be provided by creative masters The Edinburgh Ice Company.
Acrobat Ryan Knight Mitchell will drop in to Ladies Day with a stunning aerial performance and internationally renowned circus performer Valeriya Murzak will present a fitting finale with her acclaimed Mirror Ball act. The After-Racing Party will be hosted by Edinburgh’s Ladies on Rotation, providing a mix of soul funk, disco, hip hop and boogie.
Musselburgh Racecourse have also changed the method of selecting finalists for the Queen of Style best dressed lady event to make it more inclusive and the winner will drive off with a £3000 cash prize and the use of a Toyota GT86 coupe sports car for one week, courtesy of sponsors Western Toyota.
The King of Style, the best dressed man at Ladies Day, will receive a £1000 voucher from High Street favourite Slaters Menswear with the runner up receiving a voucher for £500.
