Pupils from Canal View Primary School won Jet2holidays Ultimate School Trip to the Sol Katmandu Park and Resort in Majorca beating competition from more than 1600 entries.

They had the best time along with 250 children from other winning schools. Their weekend included educational workshops with celebrity hosts Dick & Dom, Angelica Bell and Diversity’s Jordan Banjo. They worked on science, history, drama and crafts.

When they left from Glasgow Airport they had a VIP send off a Welcome Dinner with some of the celebrities and a school disco!

45 schools which were shortlisted out of the initial 1600 won £1000 of school equipment vouchers.

To win the competition the pupils created a stop motion promotional animation which you can see below.

Steve Lee, Commercial Director of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, who was on the trip said: “This has been a hugely successful campaign, with more than 1,600 schools submitting entries and over 100,000 votes. Every single entry deserved to win, but the pupils from Canal View Primary School really earned their place on the Jet2holidays Ultimate School Trip to Sol Katmandu & Resort thanks to their brilliant entry. The children enjoyed a weekend of fun, laughter and learning, and I am sure we have helped create some amazing memories for them to take home with them.”

Ann Moore, Head Teacher at Canal View Primary School said: “Jet2holidays has arranged a fantastic weekend for the children who have loved every second, even the teachers are having a ball. There has been a varied itinerary offering something for everyone and it really has been a once in a lifetime trip.”
