Division One (men): Edinburgh University 2, Uddingston 2

Kevin Wong slotted home in the dying minutes as Edinburgh University salvaged a 2-2 draw against Uddingston.

The students, who scored late-on against Uddingston to earn a 3-3 draw last Saturday, led 1-0 through Peter McKnight after 14 minutes.

But Uddingston bounced back to score after 33 minutes through Steven Percy and Brad Hughes scored with less than ten minutes remaining to put the visitors 2-1 ahead.

But Wong netted with two minutes left and then had a chance on a one-on-one with the Uddingston goalkeeper in the final minute but decided to pass to team-mate Ian Moodie and the chance was gone.

Graham Moodie, Edinburgh’s coach, said: “We played really well in the second-half.

“To be fifth at Christmas with a team which lost three Scottish internationals in the close season is good.”
