The Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS 24 have today launched a nationwide recruitment drive to fill vacant positions on their public boards.
Both organisations are hoping to attract interest from a broad cross-section of society, in every part of Scotland, to further enhance the mix of skills and experience on their non-executive boards.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Scottish Ambulance Service Chairman David Garbutt said, “This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who is passionate about healthcare to join a board that is right at the frontline of NHS Scotland and central to primary care transformation.
“No formal qualifications or previous board experience are necessary. The main thing we are looking for is an enthusiastic individual with strong communication and collaborative skills who is capable of growing into this challenging and rewarding role with the Service.”
NHS 24 Chair Esther Robertson said, “Serving on an NHS board is very rewarding and we are hoping to attract interest from communities across Scotland. We want our boards to reflect the Scotland we serve so anyone with a genuine interest in public services is encouraged to apply.”
