British speedway bosses have moved quickly to re-arrange the Championship Riders’ Individual at Glasgow.

Sunday’s scheduled event was postponed due to the forecast of heavy rain with no prospect of any improvement in conditions during the day.

The prestige meeting will now take place back at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on Saturday October 14, with tapes up at 7 o’clock.

Sixteen of British speedway’s top riders will be in town on that night and the event is the biggest individual meeting in speedway’s second tier.

For the record, famous names among its past winners include two-time World Champion and Tai Woffinden.

Meanwhile, the next action at Glasgow is on Tuesday (tapes-up 7.30pm), for the second leg of the Championship play-offs semi-final against Sheffield Tigers.

Glasgow lost the first-leg 59-31 in Yorkshire and have a mountain to climb against the long-term Championship pace-setters.
