There are many fine acts at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Some humourous. Some entertaining. Some thought-provoking. There is one, however, which will quite simply blow your mind way.
I’ve been to see the acclaimed forensic mind reader Colin Cloud in Edinburgh for four years running and every year, without fail, I leave his show shaking my head muttering ‘how the hell did he do that?’ His 2017 show – Dare, at the Pleasance Courtyard – left me and hundreds of others literally open-mouthed.
He is universally known for his outrageous stunts and his recent appearances on ITV’s This Morning programme have astounded viewers. He has recently appeared on television across the pond in America’s Got Talent. Now whether hailing from Harthill qualifies as America’s Got Talent is a question for another time but Colin Cloud doesn’t just have talent – he has complete genius flowing through his soul.
He reads minds as effortlessly as other people read newspapers (and, of course The Edinburgh Reporter!) and his great humour is always evident. In Dare, he involves his audience in a life-enhancing experience of epic proportion. He calculates the future and deduces their intimate thoughts in a way that will take your breath away.
I won’t give too much about the show away but I implore you to go and see the great man before he heads to the USA for the next couple of years. The end of his show will leave you amazed; it certainly left me and my wife speechless (and that doesn’t happen very often with her!)
Colin Cloud will read your mind, make you laugh but, above all, leave you mesmerised.
Venue: Pleasance Courtyard (Venue 33) ǀ until 26 August 2017ǀ 8.00pm (60 mins)
